7 Years ago I started writing my 1st book titled "Petra's Ashes, A Transcendental Journey". Over the years many people had asked me to write/tell my story, and after a while, I realized that writing a memoir could perhaps help someone in this world, who felt like I did throughout my childhood - completely out of place with social anxiety and lost. It was after all, my story and I was compelled to get it out of myself so I didn't have to tell it ever again.

I decided to come out with the truth, the secrets, the shame, the truth for the world to hear, read and digest. I really didn't think about how to market it, until the book was actually published, and I always said that even if it changed one person's life, it was well worth the effort. After a lot of blood, sweat and tears shed throughout the 3-year writing process (yes, my first book took 3 years), I had no idea where to turn to, how to get it edited, how to publish it, and how the whole system worked. It was a massive run-around and very frustrating.

I learned a lot, and after book number 5 was published, my editor called me and said: "Hey Petra, its time you start your own Publishing Company! Teach people how to do this and make it simple!" I thought she had gone mad. A year later, and after book #6, and with her incredible inspiration and knowledge, I finally listened and followed my gut. The result : Petra Publishing House.
